Back in 2022, Nodo was entrusted with creating and developing CEDIM – The School of Design’s new font system. An internationally acclaimed referent for design studies, CEDIM’s type language presented an exciting challenge and honorable opportunity, as both Nodo founders are alumni and current faculty of the university.
As the basis of this system, stands CEDIM Grotesk: a custom typeface that successfully redefines the university’s characteristic typeface whilst integrating in its new form the structured and forward-thinking approach their educational experience entails.
Following the same design canons, the CEDIM single-letter isotype was also modified to achieve in it a more potent symbol. In both applications, typeface and logotype, modernity is reached and delivered. CEDIM Grotesk manages to hold a balance that is strongly linked to the brand’s history as much as it signals towards their destination: the future.
