Redefining time-sensitive: using the passing of time as creative drive
Formerly known as Tandem, Mediodia is a creative design agency that launched their re-naming & branding in July 2023. Mediodía, the Spanish word for noon, embodies the hopeful mist that surrounds any day’s 12PM and at Nodo, we decided to turn time into a creative concept for their custom typeface.
We carefully concocted distinct glyphs based on time-related representations such as clocks, asterisks, the number 12, icons for the sun, the moon, and the different lighting one gets throughout a day. The Mediodia typeface results in a modern sans-serif that encompasses these symbols and celebrates them in grand detail, from the 12° angle applied for inclined terminations, to the perfect straight letter ends that reminisce a clock that marks 12PM. This is the thorough font system a meticulous word atelier requires.
Features: 459 glyphs, 5 nine-digit number sets, +15 special characters including clock representations, asterisk variations, clock hands and dingbats.
